Full structural analysis of a precast Super-T bridge girder, modelled in SpaceGass and checked against AS5100-2017 — from first load case to final capacity check.
Design and analyse a precast Super-T girder bridge to Australian Standard AS5100-2017 — the standard that governs bridge design across the country. The work had to hold up the way a real submission would: modelled, loaded, checked, and justified.
Built the girder model in SpaceGass, ran it through the load cases AS5100 requires — dead load, live load, dynamic load allowance — and checked the outputs against the standard's capacity requirements at every stage, not just at the end.
This is the kind of check that sits behind every bridge a design engineer signs off on in Australia. Running it end to end — not just the theory, but the actual model and the actual numbers — is what the graduate roles this portfolio is built for actually ask for.
